Parallel Play 



"Parallel Play" uses the playground as a site of photographic exploration, juxtaposing hyper-stylized young women in spaces meant for young children. This project captures a mediated attempt at play, where the process of making a photograph becomes akin to directing a scene. I create parameters within which my subjects "play," often observing them from afar to emphasize the delicate nature of their belongings and the architectural void they exist in. The final images evoke the intimate experience of discovering old family albums, blending a sense of nostalgia with soft, eerie liminality. The subjects, often alone or accompanied by another female companion, inhabit these playgrounds, creating a space that feels both familiar and ambiguously timeless. Through this project, I explore the tension between childhood memories and adult realities, capturing the nuanced interplay between past and present.
